For the Love of Surf

A burning red sun set into the ocean as the full moon rose over the mountains. The hues of oranges and pinks, greys and blues, purples and greens painted a kaleidoscope of truths and emotions upon the backdrop of islands. With the sun behind leading us to land and the moon ahead guiding, it felt like a message from the universe that everything is as it should be. An overwhelming sense of gratitude filled my heart as I watched with awe the beauty of Mother Nature.

The moon: divine feminine energy, the ability to receive, & deep intuitive wisdom; the sun: masculine energy, the act of offering, & unwavering strength and courage. To be physically, spiritually, emotionally aligned between these two celestial bodies during the lunar eclipse reflected the magnitude of the moment. Driving home after surfing Cloudbreak, here in Fiji, happy with all the blessings in my life— I am exactly where I am meant to be, doing exactly what I’m meant to do.

It has taken a lot of work to get to where I am today and to understand the most important gift we can offer ourselves is self-love. Do the work to look within to uncover, accept, and forgive whatever needs to be healed. When we learn to sit with the parts of us that need love and nurturing, we begin to step into an empowered life filled with confidence and compassion.
